The Long Island is a 2 feet tall dwarf variety with heavy yields & is a delicious and reliable variety since
first introduced in Long Island, New York in the 1890's.

Found in many gardens & farms due to its generous ability to produce large quantities of sprouts on short stalks,
averaging 75 to 100 1-2 inch dark green sprouts per plant.

This plant does well in any climate but does prefer cooler weather to develop a sweeter flavour.

This is a great variety if you are short on space as it is perfect for container growing with a height of only 2 feet tall.

Suitable for freezing, blanch first.

Best flavour when harvested November through end of January as the flavour improves if they are left exposed
to the first frosts.

For early crops, start indoors March thru April by sowing 1/8th inch deep with fine soil.

Keep soil moderately moist during germination in 7 to 14 days

For later crops, sow indoors & transplant or direct sow after risk of frost, with succession sowing
creating a long harvest season through to January.

Transplant after hardening off when seedlings are at least 2 inches tall.

90 - 120 Days to mature

Height of 24 inches tall
