Assembling your Plastic Forests Water Saver couldn’t be easier!
Plastic Forests Water Saver includes:
• Recycled plastic sheet
• Rubber seal
• Screws
Materials Required:
• Hammer
• Phillip’s head screwdriver or electric drill
Instructions:
• Unroll the plastic sheet and leave it in the sun for several hours or until pliable (if needed)
• Prepare the planting hole and place the plant in the middle of the prepared hole.
• Dig a trench for the Water Saver circle, at the required diameter and depth, typically to half the depth of the Water Saver.
• Lay plastic sheet on a firm surface, with the rubber seal placed underneath the end.
• Space the screws evenly from top to bottom, approximately 15mm from the end.
• With the hammer, tap the screws briefly to make a ‘start’ in the plastic, then use a screwdriver or electric drill to screw all the way through the plastic sheet & rubber seal.
• Form the plastic sheet into a circle (in location around the tree if required), overlapping the edges 25mm (approx).
• Holding the three layers firmly together (with rubber seal in the middle), screw through all layers with a screwdriver or electric drill to complete the circle. Then reverse the screws slightly so they are not protruding unsafely (if needed).
• Position the Water Saver in the soil at the required level. Back fill with soil and mulch, then fill with water.
