This opposites game, with a Thanksgiving turkey theme, is adorable!  It is brand new and in excellent condition I laminated the materials for durability!  This item comes from a smoke free home.

I received this game at an after school, Title I workshop for teachers.  It consists of a game title card that measures 9" x 7", a direction card that measures 9" x 7", and 36 word cards that measure 3.125" x 3.5" I colored in the borders, on both the game title card and direction card, with colored pencils.  There was a word misspelled on the rule card.  I simply put a piece of white correction tape over it and wrote in the correct word with a find-tip, black, permanent marker.  I enclosed a closeup picture of this.  This game is for 2-3 players.

The game title card is bordered in a brown frame that looks like grained wood.  The title is in capital brown letters.  The card is illustrated with 2 identical, light brown turkeys with googly eyes, red wattle, orange beak and feet, and feathers tipped in yellow and dark brown.  But, one turkey is large and one is small"Big" in printed in red capital letters on the stomach of the larger turkey, and "small" is printed in red lowercase letters on the stomach of the smaller turkey.  The rule card is bordered in the same brown frame as the game title card.  The playing cards all have a word printed in black bold text There is either a large turkey image in the upper, right-hand corner of the card, or a small turkey image in the lower, left-hand corner of the card.  The large and small turkeys match those on the game title card.

To set up this game, the title card and direction card are laid out in the middle of the play area.  The cards are placed, face down, in 6 rows of 6.  This game is then played like "Concentration".  The first player picks up a card, reads it, and tries to find the opposite matching word by turning over another When the second card is turned over, the player also reads it.  If it is a match, the player keeps the pair.  If it is not a match, the player turns both cards back over.  The next player then proceeds in the same way as the first.  The game continues until all of the cards are correctly matched.  The winner of the game is the player with the most matches.  This game can also be played with the rule that if a player makes a match, he/she gets to continue to turn over 2 cards until a match is not made.

Opposite pairs include the following: in/out, good/bad, stop/go, hot/cold, yes/no, on/off, boy/girl, big/small, come/go, dry/wet, fast/slow, black/white, right/wrong, plus/minus, say/night, sad/happy, up/down, and laugh/cry.

This game would make a wonderful addition to a kindergarten or 1st grade classroom to be used during Literacy Centers around Thanksgiving!  It would also be great to have in a household with younger children!  I am hoping to find it a good home.
