This is an 1878 ICG MS60 Details (7713480701) VAM 8 Stick Feather Hot 50 Morgan Silver Dollar coin  

Obverse: Doubled E PLUR of the motto on the left side and top of the letters. All stars on left doubled. Slightly doubled 87 in date with 8 doubled at bottom inside of lower loop and 7 doubled on left side of vertical shaft.

Reverse: Doubled left side, top and bottom including legend, wreath, star, and wing tip. Top of UNITED tripled. Wreath to left of ribbon bow heavily polished with parts of leaves missing. Two small feathers added on eagle's right and one long one on eagle's left side between leg and bottom of wing.

Comments:  The 1878 VAM-8 is an 8 tailfeather coin A1g reverse which is unique among 8TF coins.  The most prominent feature is the two disconnected leaves to the left of the bow.

It has a nice luster, a nice strike and appearance. 

Rarity factor 6.
