This coin celebrates the 30th anniversary of the adoption of a historic document – the Act of Declaring Ukraine’s Independence – by the Ukrainian parliament. This milestone event occurred on 24 August 1991. At various times, the Ukrainian people fought for their right to have their own national state, language, and culture. Today, Ukraine is depicted as an independent state on world maps. Ukraine’s independence is based on the people’s historical memory, traditions, and spiritual and cultural heritage.
