BioAstin Supreme™ is a unique and powerful carotenoid complex.
The product is 100% vegetarian and free of GMOs, gluten, lactose, preservatives, solvents, pesticides and herbicides.
Olive oil (extra virgin) - as is commonly known, free radicals are responsible for the oxidation process and therefore the aging of our cells. Olive oil contains significant amounts of antioxidants: vitamin E and polyphenols. Contains very small amounts of saturated acids.
Lutein - belongs to the group of carotenoids, natural dyes, fat soluble. Carotenoids are produced by plants, algae, and photosynthetic bacteria. Lutein is part of the macula of the eye and plays a protective role against UV light acting as an antioxidant.
Astaxanthin - it's pink - orange carotenoid dye, produced by some species of algae and giving a distinctive color to shrimp and salmon meat among others.
Ingredients: olive oil; algae extract Haematococcus Pluvialis; maize starch (non-GMO); colour: seaweed; capsule: vegetable glycerin; sorbitol; carrier: sunflower oil; antioxidant: natural tocopherols; vitamin E (d-alpha-tocopherol).

Making BioAstin
Cyanotech Corporation has been manufacturing algae products for over 21 years.
It has developed advanced technology that, combined with an excellent breeding location on the Kona Coast, Hawaii, gives you the ability to produce algae products without any contamination.
For making BioAstin Natural Algae Astaxanthin Haematococcus Pluvialis advanced technology is used. The initial stage of breeding these algae takes place in closed pool systems with a capacity of up to 40,000 liters.
The next short "red dyeing" cycle lasting 5-7 days takes place in open breeding ponds with a capacity of 50,000 litres. At every stage of BioAstin production, Haematococcus algae cultures are inspected by microscopic examination to ensure that the cultures are clean and free from contaminants. At the end of the "red dyeing" cycle, the algae are collected, washed and dried. The final stage of BioAstin production is the extraction of dried biomass of Haematococcus algae using supercritical carbon dioxide for oleoresin, free of biological or environmental contaminants. The supercritical extraction process is a key manufacturing step ensuring adequate effectiveness, purity and quality of BioAstin Natural Astaxanthin.
There is a common misconception that closed microalgae culture pools protect against contamination by other organisms. However, this is not true. Such closed farms can also be contaminated by other algae, fungi or protozoa. In such a situation, removing biological contaminants in closed pools can be very difficult due to the specifics of this type of breeding systems.
Indeed, the constant contamination of closed farms has led to serious problems for algae preparation manufacturers in California, Europe, and Hawaii (not Cyanotech). Closed and open breeding pool systems have been developed based on years of experience from Cyanotech. They were designed to minimize problems and ensure that algae products were free of contaminants.
