You are viewing a charming and quite rare signed Bronze medal by the French animal sculptor and medallist Victor Peter (1840-1918). Peter was born in Paris and befriended and studied with Auguste Rodin, among others. In 1901 he was nominated as a professor at the School of Fine Arts (Beaux Arts) in Paris. He received a bronze medal at the Universal Exposition of 1889 and a gold medal at the Universal Exposition of 1900. He was known for his animal compositions!
