AAFC Ardwick Association Football Club

Back in 1880, Man. City resided in Manchester’s West Gorton area, going by the name of St. Marks FC. Seeking a place to call their own, they moved to the newly built Hyde Road Stadium in Ardwick. The club felt they needed to rename themselves after their new home and, naturally, Ardwick Association Football Club was born. This change of name marked the second chapter in Manchester City’s history.
