Even sellers with the best of intentions cannot accurately grade the quality of a card like the pros at PSA can.  PSA grading also ensures that the card you are purchasing is genuine!   Unfortunately the increasing value of out-of-print pokemon cards has led to a large amount of counterfeit cards flooding the market.  

Why take such a risk with your investment when you can purchase a PSA certified card?


MINT 9: Mint 

A PSA Mint 9 is a superb condition card that exhibits only one of the following minor flaws: a very slight wax stain on reverse, a minor printing imperfection or slightly off-white borders. Centering must be approximately 60/40 to 65/35 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the reverse.

PSA Grading Information (Taken from the PSA website)

Once the card graders have determined the card to be genuine, they are then asked to determine whether or not the card shows evidence of doctoring. Doctoring is best described as the attempt to enhance the condition of a card by altering the condition, such as re-coloring or trimming. Finally, assuming the card passes the first two stages, the experts are asked to grade the condition of the card on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being best. Once the grade is rendered, the card is then placed in a tamper-evident case which contains all the pertinent information on the label, including the unique certification number.
