DATE PRINTED: 1852 from a plate first issued in 1816.    

SIZE: The printed area is approximately 43 x 36 cm (17 x 14 inches) (medium) with folds as issued.

ARTIST/CARTOGRAPHER/ENGRAVER: Drawn and engraved by Robert Rowe.

PROVENANCE: Henry Teesdale acquired the plates from Robert Rowe's 'English Atlas' issued in 1816 and reissued it as his own with alterations under the new title 'New English Atlas'.   Teesdale issued the map in his 'New British Atlas' between 1828 and 1842 after which the map reappeared in lithographic transfers until c.1868.  Amongst the earliest of the lithographic transfers was H.G. Collins 'The British Gazetteer...by B. Clarke' from where this example is taken. 

TYPE: Antique lithograph printed on paper.

VERSO: There is nothing printed on the reverse side, which is blank.

CONDITION: Good; suitable for framing. Please check the scan for any blemishes prior to making your purchase. Virtually all antiquarian maps and prints are subject to some normal aging due to use and time which is not significant unless otherwise stated. I offer a no questions asked return policy.
