Real guava 

Latin name: Psidium guajava 

Real guava is an evergreen shrub or small tree. The original home of the real guava is in tropical Central America, but today it is found in tropical and subtropical areas worldwide. 

Its ripe, tasty fruits are rich in vitamin C and pectins. 

They are suitable for raw consumption, for processing into desserts, gels and fruit juice. 

These tasty fruits' juice is used to refine foods (e.g. ice cream, desserts and energy drinks). 

In Asia, unripe fruits are eaten with cinnamon and sugar. 

Its peel is used for salads and puddings. 

Unripe fruits, leaves, roots and bark are used in folk medicine against diarrhea.
