Purple dead nettle
Latin name: Lamium purpureum
Purple dead nettle is an annual herbaceous plant.
It occurs in Europe and Asia. It reaches a height of 10-30 cm (4-12 in).
Purple dead nettle has leaves that are very similar to those of regular nettle's, but do not have stinging hairs.
Small, red flowers appear from March to September. It thrives in fields, in gardens, dry meadows, forests and along paths.
Its leaves can be prepared in salads or cooked.
This plant is one of the earliest flowering bee pastures ever.
Purple dead nettle is used as a remedy in a variety of ways.
