Also known as “Wabbit Zonkers”, these synthetic rabbit zonkers are designed to be highly mobile and as a substitute for natural zonkers.

The key benefits of this synthetic zonker is that it is easier to cast, is lighter when it lands on the water and it is more mobile in the water.

Another point of difference highlighted by our in-house fly tier, Eugene O’Dell:

“…it has all the advantages of natural zonker without having to contend with the leather hide.”

He has also kindly supplied the photo of his version of a Homer Shrimpson pattern that he tied up with this material.

Each packet contains a 1m carded spool of Synthetic Rabbit Zonker in a single colour.

About “At the Riverbend’

I am a fly tier and fisherman based in Victoria, Australia. This store started with me wanting to share some of the bits of gear that I use with other like-minded people.

Along the way, two friends (and fellow fly fishermen) have agreed to kindly lend their experience and expertise. Although they are located in different parts of Australia, their knowledge and experience of their local fishing environments, the species that inhabit these environments and how to fish for them, add greater depth to the team.

Our goal is to provide a range of good value fly tying materials and fly fishing accessories to encourage others to enjoy the sport of fly fishing and, more importantly, the art of fly tying.

Even though the range has grown, I still pack each item and check each order before it is sent, to make sure you are getting materials or accessories that we use.
