    How to Use

    1. PREP
    BARE SPOT REPAIR/NEW LAWN
BARE SOIL - Loosen top layer of soil
DEAD GRASS/THIN AREA - Rake area and remove dead grass
For best results, add a thin layer of Scotts® Turf Builder® Seeding Soil™ before applying seed
    OVERSEEDING
Mow lawn short. Aerate or dethatch to loosen top layer of soil. For best results, overseed every fall

  • 2. APPLY
SMALL AREA - Spread by hand or with a Scotts® handheld spreader
LARGE AREA - Apply using a Scotts® drop or broadcast push spreader
After seeding, apply Scotts® Starter® fertilizer, according to directions on package, to boost seed's performance for a thicker lawn that grows in quicker. Lightly rake to move seed and fertilizer into soil
    3. WATER
Watering is the critical step to seeding success. Keep the soil moist, by watering frequently (rather than deeply), until the seedlings reach 2 inches tall.
    4. ENJOY
Enjoy your beautiful lawn with family and friends. Mow seedling when they reach regular mowing height. For best results, make an application of Scotts® Turf Builder® Lawn fertilizer 6-8 weeks after new seedlings sprout

  • When to Apply

Fall and spring are the best times to plant grass seed, because seed germinates best when temperatures are between 60°F and 80°F

    Where to Use

Performs well under high traffic, moderate shade, and sunny areas. Scotts® most cold tolerant grass seed mix
