About the Product
Prevents loss in Hearing Aid performance. During daily use of your Hearing Aids, earwax can work its way into the sound outlet of the Receiver/ Speaker of the Hearing Aid and partially or completely block the passage of sound resulting in a ‘dead’ Hearing Aid.
A wax guard filter (white bit at the end of the stick) is attached on one end of the stick. At the other end is a removal tool (the black end of the stick) for removing the used wax guard from the end of your Hearing Aid Receiver/ Speaker.
Why use Wax Guards?
Wax can work its way into the tube of your Hearing Aid (which will fully or partially block sound output). Earwax build-up is one of the main causes of Hearing Aid malfunction.
Use wax guards to trap earwax and moisture in order to protect your Hearing Aid’s Receiver/ Speaker and maintain Hearing Aid performance over months of daily use. This varies from person-to-person, depending on the amount of wax that your ears produce.
In-The-Ear (ITE) and Receiver in the Canal (RIC) hearing aids are more susceptible to wax problems due to their placement deep within the ear canal.
By using and changing the wax guard regularly, you can protect your Hearing Aids from being blocked with earwax, thereby minimising any earwax related problems.
How often should I change my wax guard?
We recommend that you check your wax guards on a daily basis, since the amount of earwax produced by each individual can vary dramatically. Change them if the sound produced by your Hearing Aids is weak or if a you can visibly see a build-up of wax in the wax guard.
(Wax Guards typically get replaced every month)
To clean your wax guards and Receiver end, just clean daily with a small wax brush.
