This is a sheet from Gray's Atlas of 1873 with handcolored maps of South America on one side and “Oceanica” on the other side. Oceanica is now usually called Oceania.
The sheet measures approximately 17¼ inches by 14½ inches.
The South America map from border to border measures approximately 14⅞ inches high by 11¾ inches wide.
The Galapagos Islands extend about ¾ of an inch beyond the map border on the top left of the South America map. There is a light water stain in the top left. Please see the closeup of this area in the photographs.
The Oceanica map from border to border measures 12 inches high by 14⅞ inches wide. There is a light water stain on the bottom right of this (reciprocating the stain on the other side). Please see the closeup of this area in the photographs.
Map may be shipped flat or rolled, depending on circumstances.
