This Scholastic set of non-fiction, "Science Vocabulary Readers" is awesome!  It is brand new and in excellent condition!  These books do have adhesive sticker dots, on the back, as I had them color-coded for my classroom library, but they were never used.  This set is clean and comes from a smoke free home.

The books measure 9" x 6".  The authors and illustrators are Jeff Bauer and Maria Fleming.  The copyright is 2006, and the publisher is Scholastic.

This set of books include: "Amazing Apples", and "Perfect Pumpkins", and 2 "Colorful Leaves".  All of the pictures are photographs.  And, there are also "Fun Facts", enclosed in boxes, throughout the books.  The "Colorful Leaves" readers focuses on leaf shapes, what leaves do, and a leaf's life throughout the seasons.  The "Perfect Pumpkins" reader focuses on different types of pumpkins and what's inside of them, the growth cycle of pumpkins, and pumpkin treats.  And, "Amazing Apples" focuses on different types of apples and the parts of apples, apple trees throughout the seasons, and things that can be made out of apples.

Each reader has a Table of Contents, showing 3 chapters, and a Glossary.  There is also a set of Comprehension Questions in the back of each book (one question per chapter).  The non-fiction feature of diagrams and labeling is also present in this Time-To-Discover" series, along with bold-faced vocabulary words throughout the text.

As a former kindergarten teacher, I am a huge fan of Scholastic curriculum materials.  And, these non-fiction, "Science Vocabulary Readers" are wonderful!  I purchased quite a few of these sets and would highly recommend them to both teachers and parents.

This Science reader set would make a wonderful addition to a kindergarten, or 1st-3rd grade classroom!  It would also be nice to have in a household with young children!  I am hoping to find this set a good home.
