This is the cable you need to connect two stereo linked outputs from your digital mixer for a stereo IEM (In Ear Monitor) mix and connect it to your Behringer Powerplay P2, Fisher In Ear Stick, ART HP-1, or Polsen BCPM-A2 belt-pack headphone amp over a single XLR microphone cable. For some reason, these aren't readily available online, and this normally requires modifying an existing XLR y-cable or using a hodgepodge of adapters, cables, etc.
Here's how it works:
- Pin 2 of the first XLR female is connected to Pin 2 of the XLR male.
- Pin 2 of the second XLR female is connected to Pin 3 of the XLR male.
- Pin 3 of both XLR female plugs are shorted to the shield. This is standard practice for connecting a balanced output to an unbalanced input.
- Pin 1 (shield) of both XLR female plugs are connected to Pin 1 of the XLR male.
- Connect the adapter cable to the stereo linked outputs of your mixer, then connect a regular XLR microphone cable (in whatever length you need) between the adapter cable and your headphone amp (e.g. Behringer P2).
- Be sure the switch on the headphone amp is set to "Stereo" and not "Mono". For the Behringer P2, you simply open it up like you would to change the batteries, and you'll see the switch there.
This cable is compatible with numerous digital mixers and digital snakes on the market with XLR bus/aux outputs, including:
- Behringer X32 Series (X32, X32 Compact, X32 Producer, X32 Rack)
- Behringer X-Air Series (X18, XR18, etc.)
- Behringer Digital Snakes (S16, S32, SD16, SD8)
- Midas MR18
- QSC TouchMix
- Mackie DL Series
- Soundcraft UI Series
I hand-solder and test these cables in my home workshop--right here in the good ole' USA (Arkansas, to be exact) using Mogami cable and top-quality, gold-plated XLR connectors with chuck-style strain relief. Since there's basically nothing that can go wrong with them that can't be fixed with a soldering iron, I offer a 1-year warranty. You just pay return shipping.
I've sold hundreds of these cables over the years here on eBay and through my website. I've been selling them longer than any other seller I'm aware of, and at a lower price! So accept no substitutes: get the ORIGINAL dual stereo to single stereo adapter cable for your Behringer P2!
I also offer this same cable with dual 1/4" TS plug connectors instead of the XLR female plugs. So if your digital mixer is equipped with 1/4" Aux/Bus outputs instead of XLR, see my other listings for one of those cables.
Please note that this listing is for the dual XLR female to XLR male adapter cable only. The Behringer P2 and other cable/s pictured are purely for illustration purposes, and are NOT included.
Also note that these are NOT stereo to mono summing cables with resistors. If you're in need of one of those, check out my other listings.
