Offered is a sculptural raku jar, with an ornately sculpted lid.  The perimeter around the mouth is unusually uneven and the complex lid fits it like it had been wire-cut.  The lid has abstractly formed ‘handles’ on each end. The bottom half of the jar is glazed in light gray.  The top half, including the lid is covered with a deep green glaze with highlights of copper.  Reference the images for the best description of this piece.  It is highly complex.  There are extensive smoke markings scatttered on the jar’s surface. The bottom is charcoal covered.  The jar with lid is 6 ½” tall.  The base is 7 ½” in diameter.  The walls close in around the mouth that measures approximately 5 ½” in diameter.  The piece is in excellent condition, free of chips and cracks.  It is signed illegibly on the base.  Eccentric, organic work.
