Arthrodire Placoderm
Devonian
Mirakib, Alnif, Morocco
Arthrodira is an order of extinct armoured jawed fishes that
belonged to the class Placodermi. They show up in a number of Devonian
localities. They filled many ecological niches from the top line predator to
small bottom feeders. Arthrodires disappeared at the end of the Devonian.
This is a somewhat disarticulated Arthrodire from Mirakib,
Alnif, Morocco. Despite the fact that it is disarticulated, most of it is
preserved, and any Moroccan Arthordires are quite rare.
It’s a special collector’s piece.
Payment
must be received within 6 days of auction closing. I can combine shipments
where it will not risk damage to the specimens. For combined shipments, please
allow me to bill you to minimize transactions.
Priority
mail is my preferred option for most pieces. The USPS supplies the boxes, the
shipments are tracked, and the short handling time and rapid delivery are a big
plus for customers. For some international shipments Priority can be quite
expensive. In some cases First Class International makes more sense. If you are
an international buyer, seriously interested in the item, contact me and I can
estimate First Class options. For some very small items I will automatically
package, First Class for all destinations, in a padded envelope with a
secondary container inside. If that is the case I will already have reflected
this in the expected shipping and handling. S&H includes a handling charge
to cover costs above actual shipping.
Good Luck.
