The SunSun CUP-609 Aquarium internal filter with 2000l / h with a 6 watt pump is a real all-rounder. The filter has everything to keep your aquarium clean.
The integrated aquarium pump ensures a continuous and reliable water circulation. Furthermore, a coarse filter sponge ensures a biologically optimal cleaning of water.
This compact system is also equipped with a built-in UVC clarifier 9 W.
Why this system?
The UVC radiation kills harmful algae, bacteria and germs and keeps in check algal formation. The UVC unit normally cleans water within 14 days.
The water clarification with UVC radiation happens in a flow-through reactor. UVC radiation alters the tertiary and quaternary structures of algae proteins (algal proteins). The algae clump together to larger particles and can be easily removed from the water cycle via the mechanical filtering.
The lifespan of the UVC lamp is between 7000 and 20000 operating hours. Therefore, we recommend to change the lamp and to clean the quartz glass regularly.
The intake of this internal filter is protected by a basket with a mesh width of 1.5 mm to keep dirt away from the pump body.
Skimmer connection / external filter connection:
Please note: The additional suction port cannot be used simultaneously with the intake via the filter housing. The pump capacity must be compatible with the size of the filter. Excessive pump capacity may cause the overflow of the filter and that should be avoided by all means. In any case, you should pay attention to the circulation cycle of the aquarium and the water dwell time in the filter.
The optimal circulation cycle usually depends on different factors: fish, aquatic plants, sunlight, desired water clarity. Of course, other factors cannot be disregarded either.
