Made from a single piece of wood, just as it grew in the tree! Each hand-crafted box is one-of-a-kind!

Dimensions: 11 1/4” length, along the outer hinge. Approximately 5 1/2” derp on the widest depth, and 3” high.

Magnificent jewelry box by sculptor and artist Michael Elkan. Handcrafted from a large piece of Oregon Birdseye Maple Burl Wood, it has two smooth sides, and features an amazing live/organic edge front. The interior is spectacular as well! The lid has a recessed center, the bottom is divided into two sections, to place jewelry, trinkets, etc. A pair of unique brass hinges are counter sunk, and connect the top to the bottom.

It is in excelIent vintage condition, particularly considering the hundreds of tiny points that protrude from the live edge.
