This listing is for an outstanding antique Art Deco skyscraper light fixture! The shade is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The fixture has been restored including cleaning, a new socket, and wiring. The metal ring that holds the two parts of the shades together did have some rust. It was mostly removed, but there are a couple areas of discoloration. The fixture itself is an antique new old stock "Perfeclite" fixture with a chrome finish. The "Perfeclite" fixture was designed to hold a light shade without set screws. Typically shades are held to the fixture with screws that are tightened against the glass to secure it in place. The problem with that design is evident; tightening metal screws onto glass can cause chips, cracks, etc. The screws were also viewed as aesthetically unappealing, and when it came time to change the bulb, it took quite a while to unscrew all the set screws and then screw them all back in place. So the "Perfeclite" was designed as a sort of quick release connection that uses a ring to hold rounded tabs against the fitter of the shade. It's a great design that helps prevent damage to the shade, and is quickly removed and replaced. Why this design never caught on, I don't know, but they were only made for a short time. The fixture hangs down around 17 inches, and is 10 inches wide. It has a 6" fitter. The bulb used is for display purposes only, and is not included. You can use any standard size bulb you would like, 100 watts max. Quality light fixtures are one of the best additions you can make to your home! They add great character, and enhance the appearance of any room. Again, all the mounting hardware for standard installation is included, so this fixture will be ready to install!
