This Roger Hargreaves, Mr. Christmas book and plush set is adorable! It is in excellent condition! I had the plush displayed, on a shelf, in my kindergarten classroom, during the month of December. It was never handled by my students. This set is clean and comes from a smoke free home.
The book measures 5.5" x 5". The author and illustrator are both Roger Hargreaves. The copyright is 2008, and the publishing company is Price Stern Sloan. This book is brand new and in great condition! There is an adhesive sticker dot, on the back of the book, as I had it color-coded for my classroom library. But, the book was stored and never used. I love how the book has a "To/From" area, inside the front cover, for gift giving! I have enclosed a picture of this. The following is a synopsis of the plot of the book.: Mr. Christmas just loves Christmas. Christmas is his favorite holiday. Mr. Christmas receives a call from his uncle, Santa Claus. He needs help with the Christmas presents. When asked to deliver some presents, he takes his flying teapot and tries to cram all of his presents into that one evening of December 24th. Can Mr. Christmas deliver the presents to all the Mr. Men? Of course he can!
I purchased the plush, from JCPenney, in 2008. It was made by THOIP (a Chorian company) exclusively for JCPenney. It is 13.25" tall and 12" wide from fingertip to fingertip. When sitting, it is 10.25" tall. Though the cardboard tag has been removed, the 1 "tush tag" is still attached.
I love how this green, triangular plush is in the shape of a Christmas tree. It has embroidered black eyes and smile, a yellow stuffed nose, and red hands/gloves and shoes. The red stocking cap matches the hands/gjoves and shoes. It has a white, stuffed ball on the tip and a ribbed, white, cotton, jersey brim with 3 black snowflakes embroidered on the front.
My kindergarten students were great fans of the "Little Miss/Mr. Men" series, and so was their teacher! My mother gave me a set of these books when I first started teaching, and I just loved them! Roger Hargreaves's colorful adventures, bold illustrations, and funny stories make "Mr. Men" and" Little Miss" books the perfect story time experience!
The Mr. Christmas plush is rare and very hard to find! I have only seen 1 other currently selling online!
This set would make a wonderful addition to a daycare, preschool or kindergarten classroom! It would also be a great Christmas gift for a little one who is a fan of the Roger Hargreaves "Little Miss and Mr. Men" series! I am hoping to find this set a good home.
