Album review:

Quite a clutch of fine singers and musicians assembled for this project and their efforts are well rewarded with beautifully laid back jazz-influenced arrangements of 10 of David's songs of the time. The songs featured include "We Are More Than Conquerors", probably his best known composition of recent years, and the sublime "How Lovely Is Your Dwelling Place", which also appeared on a "New Songs' collection a few years back. With Dave Fitzgerald in particular, chipping in with some celestial contributions on flute and sax, this is hassle-free music guaranteed to restore the weary soul and is best listened to whilst soaking in a warm bath at the end of a hard day.


This 1991 CD is on the "Kingsway Music" label.
