This is a signed letter written by General James H. Batte.
James Herbert Batte (1913-1995) was a White House aide from
1940 to 1942. He took part in the D-Day invasion, and received
the Silver Star, the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, and the Purple
Heart. He also served in Korea and Vietnam. Batte retired with
the rank of Brigadier General.
The letter is about 8" by 6", and is in very good condition.
This signed letter was originally sent to the late Roger Harris,
a well known collector of autographs. The letter is not dated;
however, other evidence indicates that the letter was sent in 1971.
I am currently selling many other signed items that were originally
part of the Roger Harris collection.
The signed letter comes with a certificate of authenticity from JG Autographs.
PLEASE NOTE- the certificate of authenticity mentions other
James H. Batte items. Those items are NOT included in this
listing; they are being sold separately.
