Product Details:
Ikawa Menpa is a handmade lunch box made of Hinoki (Japanese cypress), using the method of bending wooden plate, sewing with wild cherry bark and painting with Japanese lacquer (Urushi). Urushi gradually becomes deep and rich day by day.
Urushi has an antibacterial effect and there is a merit that food in the box is non-perishable. Also, Urushi is absorbent It makes the delicacy of food last long.
This product was made in Mochizuki's workshop. Eiichi Mochizuki is in the sixth generation succeeding in the family business. There are only two people who can make Ikawa Menpa. Therefore the number of production is few, difficult obtaining, and valuables.
