Description

The Legends Jazz has a semi-flat, very soft rim with some undercut for chop room and bite. The cup is medium to medium shallow depth, with a rounded entrance to the throat for good air flow. Slotting is excellent with this model. For those familiar with the Legends catalog, the Legends Jazz is very similar to the Legends L-BL, except for a slightly wider inside diameter. Customers that have played the Jazz have used it for any style of music, but it is especially well suited for that smoky jazz sound. This model has been described as feeling similar to some Monette pieces but it is not a copy. The Jazz has the Legends enhanced throat (#27), throat cylinder length, and Legends S backbore.

This mouthpiece is kept in stock in three blanks: lightweight, standard weight, and heavyweight. The lightweight blank adds extra sizzle for more of a lead, or 'Las Vegas' sound. The heavyweight blank is extremely efficient; the added mass creates enriched slotting and core of sound. Standard weight is a nice balance of both.
