Soft white polyester wadding available in two widths and four weight options.

This versatile Dacron polyester filling provides a soft layer of padding for upholstery, furnishing, cushion, quilting and craft projects.

Choose from 27-inch or 54-inch widths and four different weights: 2oz, 4oz, 6oz or 8oz. This makes it easy to select a lighter or fuller layer to suit your individual project.

Choose Your Width

27 Inches Approximately 69cm wide. A practical narrower option for cushions, chair pads, smaller upholstery sections, quilting and craft projects.
54 Inches Approximately 137cm wide. Suitable for larger cushions, furniture, wider upholstery sections and projects where fewer joins are preferred.

Choose Your Weight

The different ounce options allow you to choose the amount of padding and loft required.

2oz The lightest option. Ideal where a thin, subtle layer of soft padding is required.
4oz A versatile light-to-medium option for general upholstery, cushions, furnishing, quilting and craft projects.
6oz A fuller option when a more noticeable layer of padding and softness is preferred.
8oz The heaviest and fullest option in this range, providing the greatest amount of padding and loft.

Please note: The ounce rating indicates the weight and relative fullness of the wadding. It is not a guaranteed finished thickness. The loft will change when the material is compressed or placed inside a fitted cover.

How to Order

  1. Select either the 27-inch or 54-inch width.
  2. Select your required weight: 2oz, 4oz, 6oz or 8oz.
  3. Enter the required quantity. Each quantity represents one metre in length.

Cutting and Using the Wadding

The polyester filling can be cut to the required size or shape using suitable sharp scissors. Measure the area carefully before cutting and allow extra material where the wadding will wrap around the sides or edges of a cushion or upholstery panel.

The material can be layered where additional padding is required. Remember that the finished loft will reduce when the wadding is compressed beneath upholstery fabric or placed inside a fitted cushion cover.

When using adhesive, stitching or another fixing method, test it on a spare piece first to confirm that it is suitable for polyester upholstery filling.

  • Hand wash or use a cool wash only
  • Avoid excessive heat
  • Handle gently while wet
  • Allow the material to dry fully before use
  • Store clean and dry when not in use

Important Information

  • Please select both the required width and weight carefully before completing your order.
  • The ounce options describe the relative weight and fullness of the wadding and should not be treated as an exact thickness measurement.
  • Soft filling materials can compress during storage and delivery. Allow the material to relax and regain its loft after unpacking.
  • Fire-retardant does not mean fireproof. Keep the material away from open flames and direct sources of excessive heat.
  • For regulated, contract or commercial projects, the buyer should confirm that the available fire-retardant specification is suitable for the intended application.
  • Width measurements are approximate and may be subject to normal manufacturing tolerances.
  • Measure carefully before cutting, as material that has been cut or altered may not be suitable for return.
