This transformer has two primary windings and two secondary windings, not a center tapped secondary, so when it is connected in parallel the output current rating is twice what it is when connected in series. The two primary windings are so the transformer can be used with either 110V or 220V input.

Transformers are new, never used (some minor cosmetic blemishes may exist). They are built specifically for Jacobs Online in a small transformer factory in Guangzhou China and built to our electrical specifications. At rated maximum current, the transformer will only be warm to the touch.

This is a great transformer for use with hot wire foam cutters. Put a dimmer switch and fuse in the hot leg of the primary winding, connect the output to your hot wire foam cutter nichrome wire, and you are ready to go.

Also use with nichrome wire for plastic sheet cutting, sealing, bending plastic, or any other heating application. Can be used for any electrical or electronic use where a 6V or 12V output is required.

Please note: ANY transformer will be damaged by exceeding the rated amps (or VA or watts) of the transformer. Transformers are tested before being shipped (in addition to testing at the factory) and guaranteed to be in proper working order. Damaged transformers WILL NOT be replaced.
