About the album:

The music was composed by guitarist Bob (Robert James) Davis, also known as Bobby-Jim and Bumper, and John Sullivan, the higher voice vocalist, and Louis White who sang, and played base fiddle. Also recorded was Robert Matthews (Bob), an accomplished musician and music director, who provided instrumental support. It was a fantastic attempt by Seminarians at Assumption Seminary, in San Antonio, TX, to identify and respond to the cultural significance of being a Texan, Country boy, and devout Catholic at a period after Vatican Council II when cultural expression during liturgy seemed to be encouraged. It was largely supported by the Seminary Faculty, the Archbishop of San Antonio, and the people of the Archdiocese. The recording was made by Franciscan Communications, then of San Francisco. The heart of this recording is faith, expression of love, and desperate hope of acceptance of the genre by Bob Davis, composer, singer, and sincerely talented gift of his time.
