Most aftermarket alloy wheels usually have a larger bore centre hole than the car they are being fitted to. This is so the alloy manufacturers can accommodate many different cars without having to make many different bore sizes. So spigot rings are used to fill the gap around the car wheel centre hub and wheel centre to give a more secure fitting.
