These high quality Polycarbonate Fixing buttons from Living Space are designed to help secure your polycarbonate sheets in place.
In windy conditions they reduce the risk of the sheet being dislodged. When installed correctly allow movement caused by natural expansion and contraction.
Each bag of 10 fixing buttons contains 10 buttons, 10 screw-hole covers, 10 screws and 10 foam compression gaskets. The foam compression gaskets are designed to stop water from getting into the hole where the screw fixes the polycarbonate sheet. They also allow for a small amount of movement of the polycarbonate sheet due to natural expansion and contraction of the sheet. Polycarbonate sheets can expand and contract quite considerably. The compression gaskets also stop uplift due to wind and sheets being dislodged by snow or wind by being pulled out of cappings.

Fitting and Usage
How to use these polycarbonate sheet buttons
Some general advice about fixing these sheet buttons:-
Use a sharp steel drill bit instead of a wood one.
Drill at least 40mm away from the edge.
Drill between the ribs.
Do not over-tighten the screw fixing and squash the sheets - as a guide the button should not touch the sheet.
Using an 18mm drill bit will allow the sheet to move due to natural expansion and contraction.
Use to fix into purlins, noggins or rafters.
