Historical Background
The original Skoda company was founded in 1859. Skoda was, back then, and engineering firm and only started producing cars in 1905 due to the merger of Skoda with Laurent & Klement cars. In 1904 Skoda produced its first steam turbine and over the past hundred years have produced turbines for nuclear power stations and hydroelectric dams across the world.
The company is now known as Skoda power and it still exists to this day
Skoda Export were a separate division from the turbine production division and handled all exports worldwide. This included machine tools, turbines and cars.
