What is Refillable Cartridge and how does it work?

A refillable cartridge is an alternative to using an original cartridges. It is as simple and easy to install as the originals and it can work in conjunction with the printer's OEM cartridges. The printer works exactly the same way but now you have endlessly refillable cartridges. Even better, when you get low on ink, just pull out the filler plug on the cartridge and pour in some refill ink (available from rihac® for $31 per 100mls) and when the cartridge reads empty you just reset it (chip resetting utility provided) and you are ready to print again.

How much will I save by using refillable cartridges?

You save over 75% on your printing costs when using rihac Photo Pro pigment inks!

Obviously, the more you print the more you will be saving.

Our set of 9 x 250ml Rihac Photo Pro inks is equivalent to approximately 28.125 standard 80ml cartridges in the Stylus Pro 3880 which would cost around $2754 (officeworks February 2012)

Our ink set (9 x 250ml) comes with 2.25 liters of Rihac Photo Pro pigment ink will cost you $675. The same amount of OEM cartridges would cost you $2754, therefore you are saving $2079 every time you refill.

Our inks allow your inkjet printer to deliver superb everyday print quality and professional photographic prints and graphic artworks with an extremely wide colour gamut that was unable to be delivered using the DuraBrite cartridges. In a recent article in ProCamera and Camera magazine renowned photographer Travern Dawes reviewed our Photo Pro Series inks, as producing results so close to the Epson inks he did not need to make any colour adjustments when printing his work. He measured the difference as being 0.07%.

How Long Does it Take to Install The Cartridges?
Comprehensive instructions are provided with your starter kit.
The system should take you literally 5 minutes to install and 5 minutes
per cartridge to fill. Installation support is also available by contacting our store.Open 9.00-5.00pm Monday-Friday excluding public holidays.

Rihac Photo Pro Pigment Inks

These are the top of the tree in photographic inkjet inks.  With professional photographers in mind we set out to produce an ink which fit the following criteria:

• Resin Encapsulated (To maximize pigment suspension)
• Produces the full Adobe RGB gamut (More colours -wider gamut)
• Commercial quality light fastness (fade rate)
• Heat/Age particle swelling minimized
• No metameric failure (colour change under different lighting)
• No bronzing
• Scratch resistant

Photo Pro inks are a resin encapsulated pigment ink utilising Cabots CAB-O-JET patented pigment dispersions.  Resin encapsulation is process where the pigment crystal is coated in a resin polymer.  This technology prevents coagulation and settlement issues as it prevents the attraction of electrically charged particles.  It also prevents the crystals from catching and bonding allowing them to roll of each other.

A greater colour gamut (increased colour range) is achieved as the pigment particles are more evenly distributed.  Because of this the inks are suitable for resin coated glossy media which can produce prints of near equal vividness of dye inks.  

The resin also acts as a bonding agent for the papers allowing the inks to adhere to the surface making the prints far more scratch resistant than other inks.  Lightfastness is increased as the resin protects the pigment particles minimizing UV light damage.

Durability testing - inks are tested by freezing to -20c and then heated to 60c. This process repeated over an 4 week period (5 cycles per 24 hours) with
no coagulation, crystallization, condensation, sediment or colour change.

REDUCED CLOGGING
Standard pigment crystals tend to catch on each other (agglomeration) causing larger particle size which leads to blocked print heads and other printing problems. By coating the pigments in a resin it allows them to flow smoothly from the print head as the particles roll off each other.

NO PARTICLE CLUMPING FROM STATIC CHARGE

in a resin polymer. This technology prevents coagulation and settlement issues as it prevents agglomeration, the attraction of electrically charged particles.

INCREASED COLOUR GAMUT
The even distribution of the particles results in a higher colour gamut and higher gloss giving a smooth image appearance. Conventional pigment
inks often have an uneven distribution resulting in a lower colour gamut.

This product is not sanctioned or manufactured by Epson and users must be aware that the use of third party cartridges and CISS systems may void your printer warranty.
