Toshiba TC9147BP Digital Tuning IC and Trim Capacitor for repairing CARVER MXR-130, MXR-150, MXR-900, MXR-2000, THE RECEIVER, TX-2, TX-11 and many other digital tuners and receivers from the 1980s. A bad TC9147BP or Trim Capacitor cause many tuner-related and display problems in receivers, including incorrect displays, non-functional controls and totally non-functioning tuning capability. Tuner problems are generally caused by bad TC9147BP ICs or Trim Capacitors. Changing both parts is over 90% effective in correcting these problems. Since both the original TC9147BP IC and Trim Cap are failure-prone, we recommend changing both once you've gone to the effort to open up your receiver.

The Trim Cap is an identical match to the original part, and fits into the board perfectly with no modification. The IC and Trim Cap are brand new and will be shipped in anti-static packaging. This listing is for the repair parts only, not the complete receiver.

The parts can be replaced by a person with limited soldering skills. A soldering iron, solder wick and solder are needed to replace the part. Be sure to unplug the unit before you start, and when you're done soldering, wash your hands because solder contains lead. Please note that replacing the IC and trim capacitor will fix the receiver only if those parts were the problem to start with!
