The coin is dedicated to 100th anniversary of Pavlo Virsky, a Ukrainian choreographer, people's artist of the USSR,
who had made great contribution to the dancing development enriching it with masterly choreographic elements.
Working as a choreographer of Odesa-, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Kyiv opera and ballet theatres
and as an art director (1955 – 1975) of Ensemble of Dancing (since 1977 called after him),
Virsky maintained in his creative work principles of folk dance adaptation for the stage
and it was very organic combination with a classic dance.
