Description

This is a 1941 Japanese Civil Defense first aid and rescue manual, titled Keibodan Kyugo Shido Yoryo, published by the Greater Japan Air Defense Association.

It was issued in September 1941, only a few months before the Pacific War began.

The manual was intended for members of Japan’s wartime civil defense organization responsible for emergency aid and casualty rescue. It includes instructions on:

* First aid and rescue duties
* Treatment of wounds, fractures, burns, and shock
* Emergency equipment
* Methods for carrying and transporting injured people
* Illustrated casualty-handling techniques

The illustrated pages are especially interesting, showing practical methods for moving wounded or unconscious persons with two rescuers.

This book offers a clear look at how Japan was preparing its civilian population for air raids and emergency casualties before large-scale bombing of the Japanese home islands became a reality.

An interesting original reference for collectors of WWII Japanese militaria, civil defense, air raid history, and wartime medical material.

The book shows age-related wear, staining, discoloration, and binding wear. Please check the photos carefully for condition.
