1998 JAPANESE ROCKET'S HITMONCHAN WITH A VISIBLE SWIRL HOLO - A TRUE COLLECTOR'S COPY
Swirl holos are the copies vintage Japanese collectors hunt for, and this Rocket's Hitmonchan has one. The holo pattern curves in a sweeping arc through the starfield on the right side of the art box, catching the light in a way standard copies simply don't. Illustrated by Ken Sugimori, the artwork shows Team Rocket's Hitmonchan mid punch against a deep, glittering cosmos holo, with a Team Rocket portrait in the corner. From the original 1998 Japanese Gym expansion, Leaders' Stadium, this is one of the most recognizable holos of the Gym era, and swirl copies like this one are the standout version. This is a beautiful copy.
