This spectacular mid-century revival necklace is a true wearable piece of art. The focal pendant is heavily inspired by traditional Indian Mughal and South Asian "Puligoru" (tiger claw) amulets. ♡Historically worn by warriors and royalty as symbols of immense power, bravery, and protection against the evil eye, these traditional designs were beautifully reimagined by high-end Western costume jewellers during the exotic fashion boom of the 1960s and 1970s. ♡ Crafted from two sweeping, symmetrical faux-horn claws made of a high-quality green simulated stone resin. The material beautifully mimics the natural, mottled matrix patterns of authentic green aventurine or jade. ♡ The claws meet at a central, heavily textured gold-tone mesh cap. Perched above the cap is an intricate, crown-like Byzantine filigree crest. The front is set with a striking, raised purple cabochon focal stone, flanked by rich ruby-red and emerald-green rhinestone accents. ♡ To ensure this substantial, heavy statement piece remains fully secure and wearable for decades to come, the original chain has been updated. The pendant now sits elegantly on a bright, gold-tone liquid snake chain. ♡ 46 cm when doubled (Approx. 92 cm / 36 inches overall circumference). ♡ Preloved, Vintage condition..signs of wear relatable to age. ♡ Pleaee see my other items which include Jewellery, vintage, antiques and collectables added to daily♡♡
