Description

An impressive large-scale studio art pottery platter handcrafted by noted Arkansas ceramic artist Rebecca Livingston.

Measuring approximately 17 inches in diameter, the platter features a procession of stylized buffalo figures around its broad rim, alternating with colorful geometric motifs. A bold cross-form design with spirals and linear accents anchors the center.

The design was created using wax-resist decoration combined with hand-applied glaze trails. A richly textured moss-green and bronze-brown glaze covers the surface, while glossy black buffalo silhouettes, ivory outlines, cobalt-blue accents, and warm ochre details create a dramatic contrast.

The reverse is fully decorated with concentric rings and the same textured glaze, demonstrating the artist’s attention to the entire form. It is prominently signed “Livingston” and dated “18.”
