Vintage Ceramic Rooster – Possibly Stewart McCulloch California Pottery – Estate Collection

Offered is a large vintage ceramic rooster figurine from an older family collection belonging to my grandmother and great-aunt.

The underside bears a worn/partially illegible maker's mark that appears to include the name “Stewart.” Based on the appearance of the mark and the style of the piece, it may be a Stewart McCulloch California pottery piece, but I am not a pottery expert and cannot guarantee the manufacturer, attribution, age, or date of production. Please examine the photographs and make your own determination.

The rooster is a substantial, highly detailed decorative piece featuring a colorful glossy glaze, sculpted feathering, large decorative tail, and multicolor accents.

Condition

The piece has visible age/use-related wear, including a chip on the front of the rooster, which is shown clearly in the photographs. There may also be additional minor surface wear, marks, crazing, or imperfections consistent with an older ceramic piece.

Please carefully examine all photographs, including the close-up of the chip and the underside/maker's mark.

I have not attempted to repair, repaint, or restore the piece.
