Historical Background

The Beer & Brewery: Knickerbocker Beer was brewed by the Jacob Ruppert Brewery located on New York City's Upper East Side. Jacob Ruppert was famously the owner of the New York Yankees from 1915 to 1939.

The Team Connection:
Ironically, despite the brewery's Yankee ties, Knickerbocker served as the official beer sponsor for the rival New York Giants baseball team (now the San Francisco Giants).

The Design:
These pulpboard or paper composite coasters featured red, blue, and cream graphics promoting "Knickerbocker Beer and N.Y. Giants" alongside broadcasts on WMCA Radio and WPIX TV, capturing the era before the Giants moved to California after the 1957 season.
