Up for sale is a stunning, large-scale antique/vintage Japanese porcelain statue of Kannon Bodhisattva (Guanyin), the Goddess of Mercy. This is a highly collectible Kutani/Satsuma hybrid export piece dating from the early to mid-20th century.

This statue features breathtaking, heavily textured Moriage enamel decoration with an intricate color palette of traditional iron reds, greens, and brilliant gold leaf detailing. The unglazed base features the historic "mesh canvas" texture left behind from the traditional clay molding process, and includes a faint, authentic hand-painted iron-red workshop artisan mark on the inner rim.
