This post card(pretty clean, but w/ some creases here and there, mostly around its edges) from Bethlehem was sent on April 1, 1908, from the Austrian P.O. in Jerusalem(a pretty nice CDS!), to a Miss Lowse(?), Bromley, Kent, England. It looks like the sender had either stayed at the Grand New Hotel in Jerusalem, and/or bought the card there! He/she was touring the Holy Land, had already been to Jaffa, Beirut, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem, and would visit Jericho, The Dead Sea, and the Jordan River the next day! As for the red, Austrian issue overprinted 20-Paras for use in its offices in the Ottoman Empire, it is has some light stains/gum residue around a number of its perfs, but is otherwise in good-very good condition! Noted imperfections aside, this item remains a neat piece of postal history connected to Austrian Post Offices in the Ottoman Empire, the Holy Land, and Bromley, England!
