Vintage Empire Ware cup, saucer and side plate trio, made in Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 1930s–40s.


Features classic Punch and Judy illustrated scenes, inspired by the traditional British puppet show. Punch and Judy novelty ware was popular in the early 20th century and is now highly collectible for its dark humour and cultural significance.


Features charming and slightly cheeky illustrated comic scenes with captions including “Please Don’t Hurt Me” and “Missed You That Time”. A wonderful example of early 20th century British novelty ware.


White ground with gold rim detailing. A great display piece for collectors of humorous ceramics or vintage English pottery.
