This is a photograph of Clint Eastwood and trainer Al Silvani from the movie EVERY WHICH WAY BUT LOOSE (1978) taken on set.

Al Silvani was a highly sought after professional boxing trainer who trained many world champions including Jake LaMotta. According to Al Silvani's daughter Alana, Al met Frank Sinatra at Stillman's Gym sometime in the 1940s. Frank was interested in getting in shape as he was only 120lbs. At the time Al was training the fighter Tami Mauriello and the three of them became friends. When Sinatra Started doing movies, he asked Al to move to Los Angeles, with the promise of getting him into the business as an actor, stunt man and technical advisor. Some of the movies that Al did with Sinatra were: From Here To Eternity, Oceans 11, Come Blow Your Horn, Robin and the 7 Hoods, Von Ryan's Express, and Marriage on the Rocks. In addition to working with Frank Sinatra, Al also worked with many other stars including Elvis Presley, But Lancaster, Barbra Streisand, Clint Eastwood, and trained Robert DeNiro for RAGING BULL. Most famously, he was the technical advisor and had the role of Al The Cut Man on the first three Rocky movies. 

For the film EVERY WHICH WAY BUT LOOSE, Al Silvani played the role of "Tank Murdock's Manager". 
Also, for the film Al Silvani trained Clint Eastwood how to move, look and act like a boxer. Al Silvani is also credited as the "Second A.D." for the movie.

This photo was in a family photo album until recently.

The negative for this photo is lost making it a one of a kind.
