This is a magic lantern slide that is 3¼ x 3¼ inches (83x83mm).

It shows a horse-drawn cart used for delivering coal in Edinburgh during the c1930s. Two figures are seated on the front of the cart, which is loaded with large dark sacks. The horse is positioned at a water trough on the street. A large multi-storey stone building with numerous windows forms the background. The mount features a printed label reading "A.H. baird, 33 & 39, Lothian St Edinburgh." A small circular sticker on the mount displays "D 27".
