Bank of England £20 Adam Smith Paper Banknotes – Set of 5 Consecutive Serial Numbers

For sale is a collectible set of five withdrawn Bank of England £20 paper banknotes featuring Adam Smith, originally introduced in 2007.

The notes have been kept together for many years and come with five consecutive serial numbers:

HJ28 279777
HJ28 279778
HJ28 279779
HJ28 279780
HJ28 279781

The first note is particularly interesting due to the serial number ending in 777, making the complete run an attractive set for collectors of British banknotes, consecutive serial numbers and unusual number combinations.

The notes have been stored inside a book for approximately seven years and are in very good preserved condition. Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description. I have deliberately not assigned a professional grading such as UNC, as the notes have not been formally graded.

These are the withdrawn paper £20 Adam Smith Series F notes, which are no longer in general circulation. The Adam Smith £20 was first introduced by the Bank of England in March 2007.

Sold only as a complete set of five. I am not currently looking to split the consecutive run.

Open to sensible offers.
