Features
A major feature of the DR-F1 is its three-head system combined with a tape tension servo mechanism. It employs a proprietary mechanism that detects tape tension between the heads to stabilize tape transport, and is designed to minimize tension fluctuations caused by remaining tape length or cassette variations.

In addition, it features F-ALLOY combination heads for recording and playback. These heads deliver a frequency response of 20 Hz to 21 kHz on metal tape, offering recording and playback performance that was quite advanced for its time.

It also comes equipped with a full range of practical features, including REC MUTE/PAUSE, Auto Cue/Review, timer recording and playback, a headphone output, and compatibility with an optional remote control.
